‘For the last year and a half I had been suffering form “my arms and hands falling asleep” at night. It got to the point where I was experiencing extreme sleep deprivation due to this condition. In addition, in the last year and a half I had gained 30 pounds, had high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
My doctor suggested I join Weight Watchers. I found this very upsetting, frustrating and offensive as I had been on an 800 a day caloric intake and was still gaining. My lifestyle had always been one to watch my weight, eat healthy, and exercise, so gaining weight was depressing and left me feeling defeated. I also went to a Sleep Disorder Clinic. I was diagnosed with extreme sleep deprivation due primarily to “upper airway resistance syndrome”.
The study also revealed that I was in a deeper sleep when I slept on my side and they encouraged me to take measures to do so. However, because my hands and arms fell asleep, the best sleeping position for me was to sleep flat on my back. I was also told that extreme sleep deprivation with loss of oxygen levels causes weight gain and high blood pressure. And that I should try to lose weight.
I had gone to chiropractors in the past, but since I had recently moved I had neglected to continue seeing a chiropractor. In short, I was too busy trying to move into a new home, adjust to a new job, and all the other issues associated with moving. I had never heard of a Chiropractic Functional Neurologist. In desperation, one day I got out the yellow pages and started calling to make an appointment. I probably called about six different chiropractors that day. The receptionist was the most helpful, friendly, and workable in trying to find an immediate appointment for me.
In just one visit after seeing Dr. Jawad I started to experience relief! In two visits, my left arm quit going to sleep. Needless to say, I was impressed!
As of today, only certain areas of my right hand still fall asleep. I see continued improvement with each visit with Dr. Jawad. I am sleeping at least six hours a night instead of two. My blood pressure has almost returned to normal and my cholesterol is back to normal. Oh yeah, I must also mention that I have lost 16 pounds! I have continued my same routine: I watch my weight, eat healthy, and exercise. Only now, things are working and I see progress.
I am amazed as to how quickly I began to see and feel results. I feel great. I thank God that I found Dr. Jawad and Total Health and Wellness Center because this has led me to a road of physical recovery and mental/spiritual wellness.’
